Newsletter Spring 2025

As we welcome the spring, the car is slowly taking its form. Since winter, all of the departments have been working hard towards the production of Flipper 1. We cannot wait to show everyone how far we have come, and you are all invited to Dolphins Day on the 28th of May! We are also looking forward to this summer, where we are attending our first competition in Switzerland!
Update from the team
Events
At the start of February, the team was invited to join AAU Racing at Herning Motorshow. An event that gave us some experience in promoting our team face to face, but also the opportunity to talk about Formula Student in general. We thank our friends in Aalborg and look forward to Viborg Classic Race in May, with all the other teams.
Switzerland
WE ARE GOING TO SWITZERLAND! After 2 years of hard work, we have reached a point where we are ready for our first Formula Student competition. Even though we are participating with an unfinished car in the concept class at FSCH, we could not be more excited!
Dolphins Day
No competition without a car. That is why we have the honour of inviting everyone who might be interested, to our car lauch / open house event “Dolphins Day” on the 28th of May from 10am – 2pm at our workshop. Meet the team, meet the sponsors and get a look at Flipper 1.
Chassis
In the Chassis department, we have been very fortunate to have Stearmose laser cut our chassis tubes. This has saved us a lot of time, and we have therefore only needed to weld it ourselves. This was our main focus in April, and we are confident that if everything works out, we will have a rolling chassis by Dolphins Day.
Suspension
Suspension has also been busy the last few months. Making use of the aluminium sponsored by Hydro, our prototype workshop at the university has been able to produce the uprights for the car. Uprights are not the only thing we have had produced at the prototype workshop. We are very fortunate to also have had our wheel hubs produced by them and installed the first couple of bearings sponsored by Schaeffler Group.
Bodywork
Besides turning the workshop into a giant sandbox, the bodywork department is working hard on finalising the forms that will be used for moulding the carbon fiber parts. The department has worked hard on figuring out which materials and strategy would be best and so far, the choise has fallen on Corafoam from Glasfiber-center in Lystrup.
